I am new to XI could you please help me what is SLD What is System cateloge and Software catelog.

Hi visi,

in Simple terms SLD standrds for System Landscape Directroy,it is divided into 2 types 1. System cateloge and the other is Software Cateloge.

1. under system cataloge u can design your Technical System and Business System

2.Software Cateloge you can create Vendor and Software Component and Software Component Version.

System Cataloge - Technical (Physical system ) & Business syatem ( Logical system ) declaration done.

Software Cateloge - Where we define our software component version (SWC )

Hi Visi,

SLD stands for SYSTEM LANDSCAPE DIRECTORY which is of 2 types...

1. System Catelog

2. Software Catelog...

Their difference is as follows....

<b>Software Catelog & System Catelog</b>

1 .The sotware catalog described the installed products and their constituent components where as System Catelog describes the systems in the data center from two perspectives

2. Software Catalog of all installable SAP products and software components and also includes basis information about support packages and dependencies between the products and software components where as System Catalog :it containes the view about the systems in the landscape and indexs

3. Software Catelog contains Software Product, Software Component and Software Component Version where as System Catelog contains Technical Systems and Business systems.
