Web Dynpro view does not work

I use SAP NetWeaver and BW (A4H) on the cloud, I remote/RDP in. Web Dynpro view doesn't work, error "Make sure the web address http://vhcala4hci.wdf.sap.corp:50000 is correct" is displayed instead.

By the way, soamanager doesn't work either (it is Web Dynpro program). I saw another thread, SAP tried to get customer to follow notes 193650 which has very complicated scenarios (in the end the SAP person asked to add something to hosts file which doesn't work at all). Since we remote into SAP cloud, why can't SAP just set up everything right,

so customers can use it out of box?

Hi Jeff

I hope you are keeping well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums on SAP Communities.

In relation to the scenario that you have described you mentioned the following:

  • Utilizing SAP NW & BW (A4H) on the cloud, I remote/RDP in. Web Dynpro view doesn't work, error "Make sure the web address http://vhcala4hci.wdf.sap.corp:50000 is correct" is displayed instead. SOAManager (WD Program) is not functioning either.
  • You've referenced many help threads and seen SAP Note: 193650 listed as a reference document.

Firstly from the perspective of NW in itself and the Cloud Platform just to touch base on your query. In true essence the Cloud Platform is indeed presently undergoing a core set of functional changes and is a relatively "fresh" technology in terms of release cycles. Essentially you can expect to see many more functional enhancements and "Out of the Box" capabilities in the near future. As we move into 2018 there will be further technical updates that will offer a new multitude of capabilities. SAP Note: 193650 - RFFMEP1A: Transaction is not displayed correctly is under the FI Component area and is not my particular area of expertise as I am a Portal consultant.

What I would recommend here (from an NW) perspective is to ensure that the latest SP's and Patch Level Releases are implemented moving forward as this will essentially prevent any avoidable issues from occurring in the future.

Kind Regards,
