Hi,

Go to content Administrator->Portal content.

The Portal Content Folder and then the respective object for which you want to change ID:

Select the object and right click it. Choose the option Change ID.

Hi Atul,

Thanks for quick reply. Actually my problem is not changing ID.While opening Portal Content directory, it shows prefix+id(name) as folder name.

For example,

com.companyname.foderId(folder name).

Here I want to display folder name only.

Thanks & Regards

I think this might be with transports

Try transporting Folder first and remaning objects later

Hope this helps u

I am also facing the same problem in EP7 ,SPS12 .

Portal shows technical name instead of description after transport uploaded into a new environment .

If you already resolve this issue can you please tell how .Or can anyone else have the solution.

Thanks,

Pranab.

Hi,

This is the exact reason why you are getting this problem. As soon as the portal sees a clash in name in the production system, it creates the new folder with the prfix + ID combination.

I also noticed this issue with EP 7.

I'll suggest that you transport the portal content along with the folders. There should not be any root folder 'ABC' already present in the new system.

You can change the ID of the folder, using chageID, and the name using "Folder Name" property(open the folder properties).
