Loading dilemma

Former Member

Hi All,

I have changed the update rules from ODS to cube to include 2 accounts which I was missing. The load from ODS to cube is a delta. Now I want to load those 2 accounts without disturbing the delta. So can I just do full repair load by including those accounts in a new infopackage and continue with the Delta package. I read in one of the discussions that we cannot do a full repair to a cube.Is it true?

Thanks,

Kal

Hi Kal,

If you are sure about your selection in infopackage you can do repair full. Due to additon if selections are chances of redundancy of data.

Hope it Helps

Hi Srini,

Those 2 accounts were never loaded before. Account is one of the keys in the ODS. So dont think there will be any redundancy of data when I load it to the cube.

Unless for the redundancy there should not be any other issue.

Thanks,

Kal

No other issue. Only make sure selection is proper.

try to load for any one account for month data and validate. or try in DEV first for confidence.

All the best.

Kal,

Your approach is correct, but the onlything you miss is due to t he full load it will bring all data for that selection. In most cases it is going to bring duplicate data. Some times depending on your update rule requirement duplication may not happen.

To be on the safe side.

1. LISTCUBE and see whether the same selection that you are going to do (full load with repair) exits.

2. if exists do a selective deletion (Make sure you drop the index ebfore you do this)

3. Do a full load with repair.

4. rebild index and reorg and buld DB stat.

5. You should be fine.

The key here is determining the same data (Full load selection altready exists).

Try to do it when least no of users are in the system, to lesses the impact.

Hope this helps.
