Hi ,

Could you please provide the steps for HADR Setup for ASE 16.0 SP02 For JAVA Instance with APP+DB on same node on priamary

On Primary : SAP EP (JAVA ) installed (standard system)

Sybase ASE 16.0 SP02 Installed (standard system)

Replication setup done by using hadr tool

on secondary node:

Only relication server setup is done by usig SWPM and setuphadr utility ,

during failover if my application in primary goes down how users will connect to Standby (i mean to say we need to install App Server java also @standby ) or what could be the process?

Hi, you can install a java dialog instance in the secondary node and then a web dispatcher to balance the load between the two application servers (primary and secondary), so, if one node goes down, and the DB failover to the secondary node, the secondary java dialog instance will handle the http request throught the web dispatcher. The client is unawere that there was a failover between sites.

The same will work with the recomndation that always install the application servers in its own servers and a web dispatcher in top.

I forgot to mention that we are assuming that the SCS instance is isolated from this infraestruture or in its own server separated from the two nodes of the DB + APP.
