Dear Gurus,
We have two Sales Orders for one Customer. The first one is created in 2006 and the second one in 2007. The First is valid till Dec 2007 and the second is valid from Jan 2008. How do we maintain the validity in SAP so that the first Order is used only till Dec 2007 and the second one is used from Jan 2008 onwards.

Raj
Raj,
Before suggesting a solution, what is the business requirement? I mean, a sales order with a validity ?? Inherently, SAP sales orders are not designed to expire.
Is it more like a contract scenario in your case? Why cant you set up contract with validity restrictions and create orders?

Hi Ashutosh,
How are you? The requirement is to have two Sales Orders or Contracts as you have mentioned. The First one is valid till a particular period and the second one is valid after the first one expires. The problem I am facing is if both the Orders are existing then the users invariably pick up the incorrect Order and deliver the material. The rates in both the Orders differ.
Can you elaborate on how I can set up the contract functionality with validity restrictions and create the Orders. Thanks for your help.
Regards
Raj
Mr. Reddy,

Hi Ashutosh,
I am also having this problem wherein expired contracts (out of range of the validity period) can still be used as reference in creating the sales order.
Can you also send me the details on how to configure the validity period in the contract so that expired contracts can never be use as reference during creation of sales order.
Thanks & looking forward to your prompt help.

Chad
Dear Rajkumar
I dont think we can control through standard flow. Probably, you can try with Sales User Exit like USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK, USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP etc. in the program MV45AFZZ.
Thanks
