Lock object and table locking !!

Hi All,

I have to lock a custom table. How do i create a lock object for that and how can I use it to lock the custom table based on a combination of 4 to 5 feilds of the table which are not key feilds?? Do I have to use it inside a loop??

Please provide with a sample code.
