Google -> abap certification exam site:blogs.sap.com -> many blogs out there

Not sure why anyone would want an ABAP certificate these days though...

Im a fresher on ABAP. I thought getting cetified will help me to get into the industry. do you its not worth doing an ABAP certification?

There are several posts on SCN regarding the value of certification. Use search. It is my personal opinion that a certificate won't help you and no one really should be getting into ABAP these days anyway. Better learn more modern technologies.

I've been doing ABAP for 20 years. I've never been certified.

A certified fresher is more likely get a job than a non-certified fresher. But the chances are still very very low.

ABAP is still being developed today. Have a look at ABAP for the cloud. (Which should really be called steam-powered ABAP).

I've never been certified either.

Yes, ABAP as language is being developed but the job market is already oversaturated, from what I see. The edge that one might get with a certificate is not worth the investment IMHO.

Oversaturated - yes, but the general quality seems to be very low.

Me neither i took a certification in 13 years of ABAP.
And i agree with Matthew: quality is dramatically low (consultant suggesting to use direct/batch input instead of BAPI....... )

Thank you for your valued replies on behalf of me!!! Im really in doubt what to do in order grab job opportunity in SAP.. Would concentrating on HANA modules be good at this ppoint of time rather than ABAP... or is it worth trying to get certified in ABAP still?

I think it may depend on the country but if I look at this https://training.sap.com/certification/c_taw12_740-sap-certified-development-associate--abap-with-sa... it doesn't say you need 1 year experience to take it.

It does depend on the region - in some regions you need to apply to sit a certification exam by proving you have relevant work experience or by passing the relevant training courses onsite or in SAP Learning Hub.
