C4C How to delete or deactivate a current Service Category Catalog?

Hi,

I want to remove a complete Service Category Catalog as a new one has been created.

The new one cannot be "released" and is still "in preperation" as the previous one is in status "released" and classified as "Current Catalog".

I checked different areas (functional, administrator) to see if i can deactivate the previous catalogue so that i can activate the new one.

Is the functionaity only allowing you to work form one catalogue and change it by creating new versions?

Hope some of you can share your experiences.

Kind regards,

MJ

    Hello Marie,

    I would like to share with you the information from this SAP Help link:

    Consider the following when managing catalog versions:

    • You can have only one active catalog per usage, for example for service requests, at any one time.
    • Catalogs with overlapping periods and overlapping usages are not allowed.

    The following example shows the correct way to use catalog versions.

    =================== Example ===========================

    | Catalog 1 V1 from 1.1.2010 to 31.12.2010 for service requests |

    | Catalog 1 V2 from 1.1.2011 to 31.12.9999 also for service requests |
    ======================================================

    Consider the following when deleting a catalog or changing the status of a catalog:

    • You can delete only catalogs that are In Preparation.
    • You can set a released catalog back to In Preparation if the valid-from date has not yet been reached.
    • Catalogs that have already been released and are in use cannot be deleted or modified. To remove the catalog from use, create a new version of the catalog, limit the valid-to date to today’s date, and release it.

    So, Marie, commenting your points above:
    "The new one cannot be "released" and is still "in preparation" as the previous one is in status "released" and classified as Current Catalog."
    Comment: Indeed, as only one active catalog is allowed.

    "I checked different areas (functional, administrator) to see if I can deactivate the previous catalogue so that I can activate the new one."
    Comment: Please see the versions suggestion above to set it properly.

    "Is the functionality only allowing you to work form one catalogue and change it by creating new versions?"
    Comment: Yes - only one catalog active and please take care with validity dates to not overlap them, this is a common issue faced.

    We hope this help you proceed further in your business scenario. Bye!

    Hi,

    I agree on the above statement that only "You can have only one active catalog per usage". But what if we are creating another version and limiting the valid to date to today's date and the "Change Status" button is forbidden / not active?

    We cannot change the status set to release for such new version of earlier catalogue in this case. Could you please suggest what could be done in this case.

    Regards,

    Hemant
