Hi

I have a BI process chain running and also i have a APO job with some 5 steps in ti. I want to see that on successful execution of BI process chain only, my APO jobs should trigger. How can i enable this ? I dont have a process chain for my APO jobs. So far i have been doing it manually.

BI (extraction of history) APO (CVC generation, Loading PA..). I only have one box, no separate box for BI.

can you give me an advice if you come across this ?

thanks

Hi Anjali

I have two variants to be included in the same program. For ex. i want to execute the same program for two product lines, having two different variants.

I am able to append the APO steps under BW process chain with one set of variants. when i want to add the other set of variants, the previous ones also getting changed to the second variant. Means, its allowing only one variant for a given program. So how do i overcome this ?

thx

Hi

sorry for the delay. Yes anjali, i am able to append it. But only thing is that i cant append a complete job name (which has 5 steps in it) to it. I can do only each step then append the next step.

Anyway, this works. Thanks a lot.. giving the points to great help.

thanks

Thanks for giving points...

You will require to add all those steps in the Processes chain as a separate steps.. as a program.

dear all,

thanks for your input. Anjali, those steps are for creating APO PC for each variant. But i am not in a position to create a PC for my APO jobs. Its alreay defined as Batch_Runs with many steps in it. I just want to append my APO job to BW PC. As Visu said, to append the job at the end of BW chain, but i dont know how to do that. I observed i can only append from the options given by the process types, not my own created TS_BATCH_RUN jobs.

Do you have an idea ?

thanks

You can add TS_Batch_Run as a process type program

In the process variant Program to call area enter the program name as TS_BATCH_RUN and varaint of the program which you want to use.

I am sure you will able to append this step in your BI Process chain.

Anjali,

If he uses process type "Program" he won't be able to connect the blocks with connection types: "successful", "error" or "always".

Hi,

Check for all the Process Types available for APO functionality wise which is present in SCM 5.0. Most of all the APO DP related Processes are availbale.

DP-BW process types are the same as BW

Process Type : SCM contains following processes

Generate Characteristic Combination

Add Bill of Materials Information

Initialize

Deinitialize

DP Background Processing

Calculate Proportional factors

Load Data from Infocube

Copy Planning Version

Hi Venkat,

If you use RSPC you can devide your process chain in 3 separate blocks with the process types in section SCM - Demand Planning.

Block 1: BI (extraction history)

Block 2: Generate CVC

Block 3: Load Data from InfoCube

The blocks can be linked each other with connection types: "successful", "error" or "always". You should use connection type "successful".

Hi Venkat,

Few options

1. To include your APO jobs in the process chain at the end.

2. Create a process chain for your APO jobs and have the start variant as start based on the other BI job process chain like a metachain

3. Raise an event at the end of your BI process chain and setup your job insuch a way that it starts only when this event is raised.

See if any of the above work for you...
