SAP Service Manager - Backup not working

We are getting the following message in the windows event log whenever we try to start the backup in the SAP Service Manager:

Faulting application B1backUp.exe , version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault

Seems like a windows security, permission or some other kind of error. Has anyone run into this before?
