Urgent: Extend BSEG-BUZEI to 4 characters and above

Dear all,

Do you know how to extend FI document item ~ <b>BSEG-BUZEI</b> to <u><b>4 characters or more</b></u>?

HI Siew Ling ,

There is a limit of (999) line items which can be posted per FI document. This is because the line item number (BSEG-BUZEI) field length is defined as (3) numeric positions, i.e., (999) line items.

Unfortunately, there are no immediate plans to expand the number of line items beyond the current limit of (999) lines per document.

SAP's Development group is aware of this functionality change request However, the change is massive because BSEG is a cluster table which is used in numerous R/3 programs. The most commonly used workarounds are as follows:

1) Implement FI summarization - please refer to note 36353 for further

details on summarization.

2) Cancel the original billing document and split it into smaller documents using different payment terms but actually with the same terms.

This will avoid the (999) line item limit for FI postings.
