TMS configuration in two System Landscape

Former Member

Hi,

We have two system Landscape: DEV, PROD.

DEV has two clients: 200-Cust (Develoment), 300-QAS (Testing).

PROD has one client 400-PROD. we want to configure TMS.

What is the best way to configure the TMS?

In our current configuration consolidate routes (using SAP and ZDEV layers) are configured from DEV - > PROD

Sanjiv.

Hi Sanjiv,

I think this may help u to configure in 2 system landscape

To manually transport change requests from DEV\QAS to PRD:

1. Make sure the change request(s) has been released via Se10 or one of the other Transport Organizer Transactions.

2. Go to transaction STMS and click Overview → Imports. Double-click the PRD queue.

3. Click the refresh button to make sure you have the most current view of the PRD queue. Make sure the change request(s) you want to transport shows in the queue.

4. Using the F9 button, highlight all the transactions you want to manually transport.

5. Click on Extras → Activate Inactive Requests. Confirm the popup. This bypasses the STMS_QA process.

6. Leave the change requests highlighted. Click Request → Import. On the popup, make sure that the target is client 300. Make sure that Synchronous radio button is "on" in the Execution tab. Make sure that the first three options are checked "on" in the Options tab. When you are done, click on the green √ and confirm the next popup.

Once you have control of your session again, the transports are done. Verify their return code in the Import Queue list. It shoud have been updated automatically.

This may help u ... reward me for the best

Hi Sngij

I ´m not sure if this is the answer that you are looking for but, I think that the correct way to configure the TMS landscape is:

DEV --- TEST --- PROD

1) DEV to TEST, like you have at this moment your TMS configuration, using SAP and ZDEV layers DEV to PRD

2) TEST to PROD like "delivery system"

Hope this help you

Hi Manuel,

The way you described is 3 system landscape. We don't want to have another system in our landscape. What I want to configure TMS in two system landscape.

Thanks,

Sanjiv

Dear Sanjiv,

You have to use virtual system configuration and manually do copy of request from dev to prd.

Hi Nikunj,

In our current configuration the TP requests are automatically delivered to PROD but I have to manually import them into DEV system queue.

Do you want me to create a virtual QAS system and then transport the request manually?

But I want to configure in such a way that all the requests are delivered automatically to all the clients.

there is no need to manually import the request into DEV system queue, you can create Transport Target Groups after you configure your request will automatically displayed in DEV.
