Hello experts,

1. Is it possible to use web service url as direct data source to WEBI? or should I create universe on top of web service url?

2. If I'm using web service url as data source to webi (either directly or via universe), what is the limitation?

We are using BO 4.2.

Regards

Hi Amit,

I only see webi service option on rich client and not in Launchpad. Is it limitation or we should enable something from admin part? Thanks

Hi Experts,

The requirement is to create a multisource universe with SAP HANA, Web Service, DB2 as the source systems. We are using BOBJ 4.2

I was trying to do some RnD of using RESTFUL Web Service to create a universe but the options I get seem to be WSDL.

  1. Can you please let me know how I can achieve this?
  2. Also is there any action which basis needs to do such as set up connection with that system, etc
We are not allowed to replicate the data nor use SDA to remotely access it. The only option provided to us is the Rest service URL.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

But why ?!?!?

I mean what would be the reason to do this ?

Actually we have two different data sources (HANA and DB2) to build the report and for some security reason, we are not supposed to access tables from DB2 directly.

wait, if web service has access to the DB2, then you have access to DB2, so this isn't a security reason.
I think your DB2/Network team just doesn't want to allow DB2 client connectivity for some reason.
