Batch sorting rule

Hi,

For batch determination we have two characteristics 1) Sort number 2)Mfg Date both are defined as ascending.

The problem is 'Sort Number' is optional characteristic so for many incidents the value for this characteristic in batch use to be blank.

When executing batch determination system takes the batches for which 'Sort Number' is blank at top. Actually we want the batches to appear in ascending order with 'Sort number' value and if 'Sort Number is blank' then those batches should appear at end. How to fix this requirement. Please suggest.

Dear Abhay,

I hope you are doing the auto batch determination during the order creation / Release

please ensure to maintain the below

1. Create batch search strategy : COB1 : With material / plant / order type combination

Assign the class by clicking the selection criteria

then assign the sort rule by clicking the sort filed in the top right hand side

2. Then maintain the batch entry selection in the MRP2 View

3. During order creation / Release system will automatically capture the batch number
