Does anyone know how to tell what changes cause a delta record to be written for any infoobject?
Hi,
that depends on the datasource and the technique behind. Sometimes it is the comparison of the fields of the extract structure with the original record, sometimes just new created records, sometimes a change of a timestamp ... It is a bit different from application to application and it also differs for the types of datasources.

Hi,
well I am not quite sure. There are some weblogs available about that issue. Additionally here some links: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/37/4f3ca8b672a34082ab3085d3c22145/frameset.htm
Open Data Warehousing->Data Warehouse Management->Customer and Partner Content->Customer Content in the OLPT system->Customizing Extractors->Maintaining generic Data Sources.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/4a/0f1e40777cdd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Open Data Warehousing->Data Retrieval->Data Extraction from SAP Source system->DataSource->Delta Process
Hope it helps!
