Can I use Table view as the data source? (I need to join two tables) Is this possible? Thank you!

Hi Qingbo,

Its possible. Datasource can be created on Transparent table, view, infoset and function modue.

View : Uniton of two tables data.

Infoset : Intersection

Based on your requirement you can.

You can create a generic datasource based on a view (RSO2).

I learned how to create Data Source by go to SBIW. Should I do the same thing? Do I need to replicate the data source?

did you create 3.x or new BI 7.0 datasource

Depending on which type you want ,you should replicate as 3.x or BI 7.0 if you need DTP

Ok, I just created the data Source. Thanks for your help!

Another quick question, do I need to do anything when I transport the new changes to Q and Production? When I Activate the new Data Source, it did not ask me to save it to the Transport request. Do I have to collect it?

You need a request for this datasource to be transported in to QA and Production

you can goto "object directory" from menu options or datasource "change" option

If you have built an view you also need to transport this view,so need to be collected in the request.

after transport,you need to replicate this datasource in BW
