Standard Class in DIR

Hi all,

can anyone tell me how the feature of standard class is being used in DMS or any other classified object?

This is what I mean:

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/24/4764bd416711d189ec0000e81ddfac/content.htm

<a href="http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/24/4764bd416711d189ec0000e81ddfac/content.htm">SAP Help</a>

In the document I can select one class as standard class, but is does not have any impact on any of the search transactions CL30N or CV04N.

Thanks

Jan

Hi Jan,

normally if you maintain a standard class for a document type in transaction DC10, this class is automatically assigned if you navigate to the "Additional Data" tab in transaction CV01N or CV02N. Otherwise you have to use the classification

button and choose the desired class manually.

Further in transaction CV04N the class is taken automatically if you enter the

document type in the "Document Data" tab. Again, if you navigate to the "Classification" tab the classification data (class and class type) is already filled.

Best regards,

Christoph

P.S.: Please reward points if this information is usefull.

Hi Christoph,

unfortunately your's wasn't the answer to my question.

What you are describing is the "Default Class" not the "Standard Class" functionality.

The standard class selection box can be found on the classification screen of the DIR (CV02N => Classification or CL20N) in the Assignments table, not in the doc type config.

There is a check box for each class and only one can be selected. But what does it do?

You will see what I mean if you log onto the system and have a look.

Thanks

Kind Regards

Hi Jan,

there is no impact in any search transactions. The only use is to mark one class as standard, if there is more than one class assigned to an object. For example, we had materials classified in one or many projects, each project was a material class. In reports we selected this standard class, to transfer materials to BW or to use the standard class (project) on a drawing frame.
