Backup for SAP + Java - Windows & Oracle

Hi,

We have ECC, SRM, BI, Portal systems on Windows with Oracle. All these systems are dual stack ( ABAP + J2EE engine).

I am quite familiar with normal Oracle online/offline backups. However this backup process will not backup the J2EE filesystems.

How do I have one " integrated " backup solution that backs up my " whole " SAP system (including database and filesystems)?

      • Any suggestions would be rewarded.

Thanks in advance,

Abdul

You will need to make sure you backup the database and the filesystem of the J2EE engine at the same time to ensure consistency of the two.

ABAP systems also have a number of files on the filesystem (kernel et al) that should be backed up.

As Markus said you have to do a J2EE file system backup. Its better to stop SDM to make sure no changes are made to filesystem while you take backup.

Thanks
