Sort data based on particular values in a column of table view (OWL) in C4C

Hi,

Sort data in table view based on values in columns in C4C.

Designed a custom BO with OWL screen with 10 columns. There is a columns called "Status" that has values like "Pending Approval", "Approved", "Rejected" respectively.

User wants to see all "Pending Approval" status records are top. I mean, the rows which are the status called Pending Approval should be appeared on top in OWL.

Ascending & Descending will not work this case.

Please provide your valuable help on this.

Regards,

Chandra

    Hello,

This depends how those values are defined.

You can normally sort by description or by value.
Description is lexicographic whereas value depends on the technical values.
If "Pending Approval" has the value "01", "Approved" => "02", and "Rejected" => "03" sorting by value would do it also.

    Hi Chandra,

We faced the same issue and solved it by putting a number before the status in words, e.g.

    1. Pending Approval
    2. Approved
    3. Rejected

Thanks Kai. We too had this idea before raising this concern :). But that field being used in many places, hence not feeling to disturb the existing working business function.
