Hello KM,

In the earlier post you have mentioned that PR is reflecting in the ME52N, which means PR is not deleted from the database.

Reason could be 1.Residence period 2. PR could be open item.

Check your spool list and see whether the data is written or not.

For learning purpose you should take old PR which is business completed. that is 3 to 4 years back data.

Please read the archiving management guide for the basic information that help you in archiving process(Write, Delete, Store, Read, AIS).

Hope this information will help you.

Hi KM,

If you want to delete the PR then Archiving concept will help.

In Archiving Concept you can archive PR and delete the same. To do this you have to use T.code SARA. MM_EBAN is the archiving object.

Steps:

1. Goto SARA ---> Enter MM_EBAN ---> Click Customizing ---> Archiving Object Specific Customizing Technical setting -

> Check the followings

a. Production Mode variant -- PROD

b. Delete Job -- Start Automatic

Come back to Main Screen SARA

2. Click on Write --- Enter the variant name and click Maintain --- Enter the PR number, Select One step procedure, Detail log and log of archived tables but do not select Test run. -

Click on Attributes and mention text and later SAVE & come back.

3 Schdule the Job by maintaining Start date and Spool parameters and Click on Execute or F8 -

Click on Job to observer the Job runs.

4. Check in the management whether your archiving (Write & Delete) session is completed or not.

In this way you can delete the PR from the database.

Hi KM,

This message is because there is no variant maintain for the deletion program setting in Archiving Object customizing setting.

Steps to maintain for Deletion program setting:

SARA > Enter MM_EBAN > click on Customizing > Click on Archiving Object customizing -- Technical setting

In Production Mode Variant select 'PRODUCTIVE'.

Click variant to observe X symbol. Note that there should not be X symbol.> Save

Check Other fields in this screen such as Logical file name, Maximum size in MB, Deletion Job start automatically, Content repository (select any one), select Delete before store.

Then run the archiving process again.

Note: Check the status of your archive session number (you can get session number in Joblog) in the management. Write and Delete should be (in green signal) completed status.

Reward will always motivates.

-Thanks,

Ajay

KM,

If there is no Production Mode Variant then you have to create new variant.

Steps:

Click Variant > Enter Text >Deselect the Test and save it.

Proceed with further steps as explained my earlier post.

Hello,

can you tell us why you woud like to delete the PR?

Usually it is enough if you set it to the state where no further requirement exists.

As shown already delete the items or set them to 0 quantity.

Another thing is the consistency of the system.

A PR is followed normally from an SO.

If somebody is doing an analysis in the futre he will propably don't know why no PR's where created.......

To delete the PR, you simply have to reject the related line in the SO.

If something already is purchased, you shouldnot delete it.

what is meant by residence period. how to maintain it.

Hi,

Residence period is the minimum time that data should spend in the database or it is the time that data attains the criteria of archivability.

Hi,

Do you want to delete the PR from the data base, means PR number which shows in ME5A transaction or any other report. You cann't delete the PR number completly from the data base without archiving process.

If you put deletion mark in the PR line item , in future you cann't process that PR for any further process.

If you want to remove totally means removing the PR number from the database you need to archive it which is done by Basis guys usually and that too not frequently.
