Hi,

  1. Please go to: Administration > System Initialization > General Authorizations.
  2. Select the user on the left side of the form.
  3. In the Subject column go to: Reports > Query Generator.
  4. Set to No Authorization: Create/Edit Categories
  5. Set to No Authorization: Execute Non-select SQL Statement
  6. Set to No Authorization: Modify SQL Statement
  7. Optional: Set to No Authorization: New Queries

Johan

I configured exactly the same settings. The only concern is how the user can execute or run the query.

The only way it can be executed is via saving the query in the My Menu per user.

I am still searching for an alternative.

Thanks!

Hi,

With these settings the user can see and execute all queries in the normal menu (Tools > Queries > User Queries), but they cannot alter any queries or categories.

If you want to limit the user to be able to only execute certain queries, you can do so by managing authorization groups in the Query Manager (Tools > Queries > Query Manager...). The user can then be given or denied rights to the selected Authorization Group (Administration > System Initialization > Authorizations > General Authorizations > Reports > Query Generator > Saved Queries - Group No. x)

Regards,

Johan

In addition to this:

How can we give a user autorisations to the Query manager screen ?

We have a user who can perform the queries from the menu Tools > Queries > User Queries but he cannot perform any query from the querymanager allthough he has rights to the querygroups to which the desired queries belong.
