Do we have to create an inspection plan for all materials that are subjected to Quality Inspection?

Thank you

Yeo,

There are two options first of all by which you can inspect .First based on material specification if you want it at client level ,second by Inspection plan if you want to inspect materials at plant level. So first you need to clarify this.

Assuming that you want to Inspect using Inspection Plan ,you need to make the following settings in the material master.Check "Post to inspection stock" and check "Inspection with task list" also "Automatic assignment"and "Check Characs".

Also in customsing you need to include the task list(in this case an Inspection Plan) to the material types for which you want inspection.

Create an Inspection Plan using Tcode QP01 and list out all the operations which needs to be inspection in a sequence.

Please let me know if this is helpful or if you have any questions. Also reward and close this thread if satisfied.

Thanks

Dear all,

Thank for the fast reply. The answers have been helpful.

Hi Naik,

Please correct me if I am wrong.

After I created the inspection plan, I need to record the result using T/code QE01. I understand that for defect recording, I need to use T/code QF01.

After doing the above, I need to use QA11 to do a Usuage decision, right?

Thank you.

Your spot on .thats correct and after you do the usage decision you need to do sock posting in the same transaction qa11(stock posting tab) inorder to move the material out of quality .For eg;stock posting from quality to unrestricted which will produce a movement 321 in the background. You can view this movement type being processed in Material Document list TCode MB51.Thanks for rewarding

Naik.

Km,

first of all you plan your QM-Inspection

i.e. QP01-QP03 wit the correspondent characteristics -> Things you would like to check!

Then you add the correspondent settings for your inspection type in the material master Quality management view

Then you create a correspondent inspection lot depending on the inspection lot origin this can be done via MIGO, CO01, QA01 etc.

Then you check the characteristics of your material i.e. via QE51N and record results, eventually you can record defects -> Create a quality notification linked to the inspection lot.

The characteristics can be accepted or rejected -> Depending on the severity of the characteristic this can lead to accepting or rejection of the material.

Finally you make the usage decision -> Accept/reject the entire inspection lot and if it is stock relevant you post the material.

Also,

Incoming inspection:(GR from PO): While doing the MIGO inspection lot will be generated in QA32, Results recording to be done in QE01/QE51 and Usage decision to be done in QA11.

Inprocess inspection: Production Inspection: After purchase order release, inspection lot will be generated, results recording and usage decision is same as above.

GR from Production: After purchase order confirmation(through MIGO/MB31) inspection lot will be generated. Results recording and Usage decision is same as above.

All these are well described under PLM forum.Reward if helpful

hi yeo

It is a option only, if you have specified for that inspection type as "Inspection with task list" then you have to maintain inspection plan ,other option also availbale you just activate Post to inspection lot for that inspection type and deselect all other parameters then your material will be posted to inspection lot,but problem is you doesn't know what to inspection ( only physical check can be done or no result recording would take place)
