Output type for email not automatically generated for Sales Billing Doc

Hi all,

I have a situations where the output condition that I set up for billing did not quite work. I basically set up for external send with communication strategy CS01. However, the output type will not default on the billing document.

I tried a few thing and the only way I can get it to work is to assign a printer device on top of the above set up which looks weird to me. I never have to set it up this way with my previous clients.

Does anyone know what controls the need to include printer? Could it be because of the way the print program or forms is programmed?

Appreciate any pointers on the above.

Thanks

Default communication strategy CS01 has print-out (LET) as second step - so therefore printer needs to be defined.

    See also KBA 2036062:

When communication strategy contains 'LET', the system tries to find a valid printer.
But the printer is missing, so the condition record is not set in the billing document.

Had you shared the screen shot from Determination Analysis screen, that would have been self explanatory. Not sure whether you checked this before posting here.

    • Hi, I did check the Determination Analysis and can see that the output condition record is found but at high level it is still saying the output condition record is not found.

Sorry, could have highlighted that earlier.

Anyway, Rob's subsequent reply confirms the reason why printer is needed.

      Thanks
