Error In Inventory counts

I have two materials in my inventory. both have the same UoM and I do my counts weekly basis.

But in one material is always shows more booked quantity than what we have physically.

Where as other material is always have right book and counted quantities.

Do you have any evidence that SAP is calculating wrong?

If the book inventory is higher than the stock that you find during a count then there are not really much options, usually the stock became legs and is gone, in other words it is either theft or the user missed to enter a goods issue. Sometimes it may also be a wrong entered receipt.

But I see no real starting point to help you in case it would be a system related problem.

Are you posting movements in different units for this material, or do you always use the base unit? Alternative units are always a risk for wrong entries.

Do you count the material when you get a receipt to be on the save side that you did not get more than it was stated on the papers?

Has the material value for a burglar? Is it convenient to transport in case of theft? I mean golden nuts and bolts are more like to be stolen than a IBC with 1000 liter of shampoo.
