Dear All,
In our production system, on 7th october the update statistics job was scheduled from DB13 and it is still showing in SM37 as active, but all the background work process are idle.
This Job is scheduled every weekly once and now currently there are 4 update statistics job DBA:UPDATESTATS_____@020000/5000 showing status as active, but all the background WP are idle.
Please suggest how to go about it. Can I stop those jobs. This is a production system. Please suggest.
Appreciate you response.....
Thanks and Regards

Dear All,
Thanks for your replies and suggestion. I have done the same way by checking the status of the Job and it changed the status from Active to Cancelled.
Thanks
Sharath

Hi Sharath,
The job probably got canceled, however the entry of the 'Active' job still exists in SAP's internal job scheduling tables.
To correct this, simply select the active job and select the 'Check Status' option from the Job menu.
JOB->'Check Status' , this should correct the status of the job and probably change the status of the job from 'Active' to 'Canceled'.

Job -> Check status:
This allows you to check whether the status of a job as shown in the list is the same as the real status of the job. There is a database table that contains the status information of the jobs.
Situations sometimes occur (for example, a problem in the connection to the database) that prevent the background processing runtime system from entering the current status of a job in the appropriate database table. This will cause a discrepancy between the real status of a job and the status that was entered in the database.
Hope that helps,
Regards,

What is the status available in DB13? Double click the entry for the Update Stats for 7th Oct and see the log. Does it show completed? If Yes you can cancel the job in SM37. Also, in Sm37, select the job and goto Menu -> Select Status. See if the status changes from 'Active'
