Hi Raj,

we felt in the same issue as you while uninstalling a cluster and we're totally stuck.

Can you give us a suggestion to uninstall this cluster ?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

I faced the same problem (the one with "runCleanIPC"),

I solved the problem running Sapinst using:

sapints.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<virtual hostname for SAP>

Use the virtual hostname of SAP and not of the DB.

That was the solution for me at least.

Hello,

I encountered the similar situation & got good result following Mr.Camilo Lopez de Felipe.

The command to start SAPinst was

sapints.exe SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<virtual hostname for SAP>

Thank you very much.

Hi Raj,

For Oracle failsafe ... you have to break the oracle cluster first prior to uninstalling oracle on individual nodes.

Oracle failsafe provides option to break cluster..

Use a registry cleaner to clean up oracle components remaining..

Few questions regarding droppin database in windows cluster environment

1.how to drop database(database instance)?

2.how to ensure whether the database actually got uninstalled, i mean places to check or files to be looked into

3.Anything in registry needed to be cleaned up

Hi Raj,

In my opinion,

1. Yes DB instance and check this article; http://sqlserver2000.databases.aspfaq.com/how-do-i-drop-a-sql-server-database.html

2. Just run the Oracle uninstall, then remove any entries on the registry,

3. Yes, check that under hkey_local_machine -> Software any entries for oracle are gone.

4. If you still find contents after runnning the uninstall via sapinst feel free to remove the folders manually.

Juan

im listing them below

rdbms archive L:\oracle\<SID>\102database\archive

rdbms control L:\oracle\<SID>\102\database

sqlpath L:\oracle\<SID>\102\dbs

HI,

it is not a good idea to install virtually. what guide are you following? and what product are you trying to install?

Thanks,

Hi Afi,

What do you mean "it is not a good idea to install virtually"? Installing on virutal hostnames is recommended and has now downside...plus it is required for HA installations (MSCS) and Adaptive Computing...please explain what you mean.

Best Regards,

Matt
