NW04s SR2/MSSQL on MSCS

hi experts

I am tring to set up NW04s SR2/MSSQL(EP,BI-JAVA) on MSCS.

We are in Compliance test phase.

system configuration is two nodes cluster.

Node A(primery) has CI(central instance),Replicaton server.

Node B(secondary)has DI(dialog instance), Replicaton server.

SCS and Database Instance are installed in shared disk.

Now im facing some problems.

1.DI(dalog instance) is unavailable to connect in normal

status.(means both nodes SAP are up status and DI is also up)

Even the status of DI is green in MMC.

I was thinking it would be available to use CI and DI in

normal situation but only CI is available.

2.After automatic failover by disconnect public network , DI is going

down and given the message like "Stopped License" in MMC and getting

Red.

So I was wandering the system has been set up correctly.

Is 1. normal status after setup NW04s HA configuration ??

for 2. Do I have to do additional tasks example lisence installation

and some other stuffs.

Any information would be appreciated.

Regards

MASAKI

have you installed SAP license on both the nodes (A & B), you have to install license on both the nodes. i think it is mentioned in the NW installation guide.

hi Sunil

Thank you for important information.

My trouble(B node can't be started becouse of lincense message) has been

solved just by rebooting OS.

But I was missing information you pointed. Thank you very much.

I doubt that you have solved the problem.

In an MSCS configuration you need one SAP license for every cluster node where the SAP message server is running on. Run Transaction SLICENSE when A(SCS) is running on node A and a second time when it is running on node B to get the hardware keys and apply the necessary license keys.

rebooting node B while (A)SCS is running on node B will initiate a failover of the ASCS instance to node A where a working license is active.
