Quantity and value updates for stock.

Hi Gurus,

If my client passes the quantity and price information, for sales to customers, through an interface from their proprietary system, can we automate the quantity and value updates for stock in the inventory? What other information will need to pass from their system in order to have an inventory update on a more regular basis?
