You can carry out transportation planning and shipment completion using a new organizational unit, the transportation planning point.

Basically, the transportation planning point consists of a group of employees responsible for organizing transportation activities. Each shipment is assigned to a specific transportation planning point for transportation planning and shipment completion.

You must define the various transportation planning points used in your organization in Customizing for Corporate Structure before they can be used to perform transportation functions. You can define this organizational unit according to your company’s needs, for example, according to geographical location or mode of transport.

The transportation planning point is assigned to a company code, but is otherwise independent of other organizational units.

Hi Mohsin,

Transportation processing is a central element in the Logistics chain. The functionality allows you to control and monitor the entire shipment.

Transportation processing can be used both for goods receipt and goods issue so that all goods movements can be represented in the system. Incoming shipments are made on the goods receipt side following the goods purchase order and shipping notification; outgoing shipments are made on the sales side following the sales order and delivery creation.

Requirements for carrying out transportation processing:

1. For outgoing shipments, the following requirements must be met for transportation processing:

The delivery type must be flagged as relevant for transportation in Customizing.

The underlying deliveries must contain a route.

The routes of the deliveries must be flagged as relevant for transportation in Customizing.

The transportation blocking reason in the delivery header must be blank.

If the above requirements are met, the transportation planning status in the delivery is set to 'A'.

2. In the case of incoming shipments, the following requirement must be met for transportation processing:

The delivery type must be flagged as relevant for transportation in Customizing.

Settings in Customizing

In Customizing, you must take the following settings into account, check them and, if necessary, redefine them:

Settings for general sales and distribution functions

Specify the relevance for transportation of delivery types

Specify the relevance for transportation of routes

2. Settings for general sales and distribution functions

You use your own elements for transportation processing in output determination:

Condition tables, access sequences, condition types and output determination procedures in the condition technique

Output types for the partner function SP (forwarding agent)

Print parameters

Processing programs and documents

3. Editing texts

Text types and text determination procedures are set up for transportation processing for the text determination.

4. Organizational structure

You must maintain the transportation planning point for the organizational structure.

5. Authorization objects

Two authorization objects exist for transportation processing:

V_VTTK_TDS (authorization for transportation planning points)

V_VTTK_SHT (authorization for shipment type)

6. Number range object

The number range object RV_TRANSPO has been set up for transportation processing.
