<b>Greetings to all the experts here,</b>

when i tried to install <b>SAP Business One 2007A</b> on <b>Windows XP Professional and SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition</b>, error is occuring that it cannot be connected to the Database (here a link to Error1)

<a href="http://www.siteupload.de/p534910-fehler1JPG.html">Error1</a>

But the Database Server Name is rightly and the Database is started!

If i, as in the installation guidelines described, enter (local) in Database Server it comes this Error:

<a href="http://www.siteupload.de/p534929-fehler2JPG.html">Error 2</a>

is there anybody can help me to solve this problem?

<b>Thanks!

Simon</b>

Hello Simon,

I would like to share that I install SBO 2007A on XP 2002 SP 2and using MS SQL server 2005 developer edition. For more detail, in sizing guide 2007 , Supported Database Platforms suggested is : Microsoft® SQL Server 2005 SP2 Standard/Enterprise Edition 32bit/64bit (only on Windows 2003 Server). So for XP, I suggest to install developer edition.

In addition to my previous reply, after seeing your error message, I suggest to read installation guide, solution guide and security guide for further detail solution and information . From the picture 1, the server seems not started yet and system fails to find the server. you must check whether the server is running in SQL server service manager that available in SQL server configuration manager.

The picture 2, it seems that you want to install client application in user workstation. have you installed SQL server native client from SQL server CD --> tools folder ? you must install it first.

I am sure the error in picture no. 1. appears since system can't find MS SQL 2005, and it maybe available MSSQL only.

Are you end user or partner ?

let me know if you need more detail about my solution.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem.

I'm running WinXP Pro w/ SP2 and SQL Server 2005 SE.

When installing the Server, the setup fails to install B1IP because it cannot connect to SBO-COMMON DB (like in the print-screens provided in the initial post).

I have the ODBC connection to the SQL Server Native Client, all SQL Server Services are running, TCP/IP connection is enabled, etc., and still I cannot install the B1IP.

Does anyone have an idea how I can solve this?

Thanks,

Vítor

Hello,

Problem solved!

you have to install the SQL server native client from SQL server CD -->

tools folder

at

first

, then the Folder server!

And Choose in the SQL installation

- default instance -

, not - named instance - !!

Now install normal the SAP B1 Server + Server tools and the Client!

It works

ps.: Thanks for the tips
