Lumira Discovery Import BW

Good day,

We are using SAP Lumira 2.0 Discovery. When trying to acquire an offline (Import) BW datasoure via the BI Platform, it just keeps giving the error "Not Connected".

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong or what I am missing?
Connecting to the Live option works fine.

Kind regards,

Haidee

Hi all,

Thank you for all the assistance. I eventually managed to get this working.

We are using Lumira 2.0. After changing the Lumira Proxy setting to "No Proxy", in Preferences > Network, I have not had any further issues.

I'm now able to access the OLAP connections, to BW Queries, created in the BOBJ CMC, by connecting to the BW Import > BI Platform option in Lumira Discovery 2.0.

I've added a screen shots of the steps.

Regards,

Haidee

The problem here is that with Lumira 2.0 you cannot connect to BW OLAP connections form BI Launchpad. It is not supported. You can only connect to HANA as live. What you have to do is, you have to design your report/dashboard on a desktop client for BW OLAP connections and then save it to the BI platform.

If you upgrade your Lumira server add-on from 2.0 to 2.1, you will be able to see BW connections on BI platform. Please see the screenshot below.

Hello tammy.powlas3

We are having the same issues. All BW OLAP connection can be viewed when connected locally but not via the BI platform.

Hi Joan - could it be permissions?

No. I have granted advanced security permission to the connections in CMC.

Do I need to set up HANA authentication for BI platform- SSO?

Joan: it sounds like you do need to have some HANA security set up on the HANA side; please review the SAP HANA Security document

Hi - are you using a BW OLAP connection? Was it created in the CMC?

Have you tried connecting to BW locally (e.g. not via BI Platform)?

Hi,

Yes we are using a BW OLAP connection that was created in the CMC.

When connecting locally to BW, it works without any problems.

Thanks

Haidee
