select key figures before you execute report on analyzer or web??

Friends,

Is there a way to select key figures before you execute report on analyzer or web?

I have a requirement where user wants to select key figures before executing a report. we are using 3.5 version. Query would have 5 to 9 key figures. At the execution time user will select desired key figures.

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hi Bhavin,

Wish the search was working right now...we talked about this on a thread and I put in an idea about creating user entry formula variable named after each key figure in the report. Each key figure is multiplied with its formula variable in a local formula and set zero suppression in the query. During runtime the users can enter 1 against the variable when they want to see the KF and 0 when they don't want to see it. Not sure if there were other ideas on that thread, or if my idea was actually used...

Do you remember thread title by any chance? I can search. I already have 12 variables and if I make this part of variables then I would have about 20 variables on selection screen.

I would consider using formula variable if there is no other way around.
