No. It has to be deployed through SDM.

Thanks,

There is an Ant deploy tool in SDN. We can deploy with Ant. Cheers.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I know the tools like SDM, deployTool, or By NWDS. I just want to deploy it by writing a build.xml like jboss, weblogic.

Theoritcally it is possible to deploy an ear file on a server an start it using a bat file or shell file, ant scripts etc.

But it seems deployment in Netweaver j2ee engine is controlled via SDM.

The SDM is easy to use and all one needs to do is pass the .sca file and .ear

file to it and it does the job.

As rajit said one should use SDM.

You may want to rename the context root of your application in such a way so that

the the deployment occurs in the respective desired folder.

Hope that clears your doubts

thanks

If the background for asking is because you want to script the operation, one option is to use SAP Telnet Script. See https://wwwn.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/s-u/sapteln...
