Getting BOM data in CRM

Hi there,

I'm trying to get a product's BOM in CRM but it's currently stored in ECC. Is there a way to access this data, preferably from CRM itself?

Thanks

Hi

If you are on CRM 5.0 then R/3 sales BOMs can be downloaded as CRM structured products. Also you can explore the BOM explosion on CRM order as long as you are not using configurable materials in BOMs.

Let me know if you are using CRM 4.0, because BOM download is not supported. We need to take a different approach to use R/3 BOMs in CRM 4.0

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for your response. I duly awarded some points to you.

We are using CRM 5.0. Basically we need to get the physical product's list of BOMs which is available in ECC. I am not too sure if they are currently maintained as CRM structured product. How do I check?

Also since we need this real time, how can we make a call to the ECC to retrieve this information? Any response is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Joshua,

You can download the BOM's to CRM.

If the material is configurable you create a KB and then create a runtime version of KB to download the BOM's to CRM. For non configurable products, dwnload adapter object BOM to download the boms to CRm.

For standard products you can see the Bom items in the product relationship tab

Hello Joshua,

BOM's cannot be exploded in CRM transactions, if only they are part of configurable object we can find some way to bring them.
