Hi Experts,

Is it possible to monitor a Non-SAP process running at OS level in the system monitoring/dashboard.

I have set up technical monitoring with custom template for that system. The same custom template is being used for other systems as well.

How can I proceed now for the non-SAP OS process monitoring.

I would appreciate all your help.

Thanks in advance

Thank you Prakhar. appreciate your reply.

Can we use the "ps -ef | grep "process name" command in the script for monitoring and alert creation purpose.

Thanks in advance

Hi Prakhar,

Thanks for your quick reply and support always..Much appreciated.

Let me give you more details.

There is a non-SAP process( third party application) running on the managed system at OS level . For managed system, I did set up technical monitoring.

I get alerts also for the managed system, but want to set up an alert for non-SAP OS process also and want to see it on the particular system dashboard as well If possible. The managed system custom template is being with other systems too.

Please suggest the possible methods and procedure.

Awaiting your reply

Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

Yes, this is what i have shared you can use the same procedure to designed a new template with custom metric/created with custom scripts for that particular os e.g for windows the script must be .bat, Unix must be .sh like shown in the blog.

Just to add further there is no signifiance of saying non sap or sap since you are talking about OS so any application like sap or non sap will always run on some os like window/unix...so for tech mon template you can design the template you want or use existing windows or unix template with your custom metric and it will fix ur issue.

hope this helps further

Thanks

Prakhar
