BI - Calculated Key Figure with Currency unit

Hi

We have a requirement wherein the billing documents are to be reported in local currency in BI.

The Issue is that billing document currency can be different than local / company code currency. Therefore we are looking at Billing Header to fetch the exchange rate and arrive at a Billing amount in local currency.

Since this key figure is a calculated key figure, I am told that these cannot have a currency unit display along with billing amount. This is working for Billing document Currency

For E.g. Billing document currency is "100 $" whereas billing amount in local currency is displayed as 6000 only. We are looking at "6000 Rs." since the local currency is INR.

Any suggestion of how can this be possible. Please note, we do not wish to use standard translation as at times in the current scenario, it doesnt match with FI Valuations due to late update of exchange rate in table TCURR.

Appreciate your immediate help

Regards

Mustafa

Hello,

Without currency conversion, there is no way to tell the BEx engine what is the target currency of your calculated key figure. So it might be difficult to achieve this in BEx. But you can add the local currency infoobject as a new column next to the CKF in your report, to show what currency the figures are reporting.

Hi Shashank

This is what our BI team also suggested. However there would be regional heads using this report and everytime to check for currency field may not be advisable. Also how would summation work, if there is no currency unit.

The System should try to find the target currency based on company code currency. Can we built this logic!!
