Prepositioning inventory by sales order demand

Hi All,

I have a unique scenario that I need help with.

We are interfacing MCA (Service parts planning tool) with SAP for executing inventory pre positioning recommendation. R/3 will accept Sales order from MCA to preposition inventory for a specific location (Plant) as a project stock. This sales order will not have any delivery/billing. It will not consume any stock. This order will kick transfer requirement to MRP and MRP will create PO. System will receive item from vendor. Then this inventory will be consume by other real sales order.

We had looked into Planned independent requirement but because of tracking of asset requirement we decided against it.

Can anyone help me configure sales order to implement above requirement.

OK, It's been a long time there is no response to this message, let me re phrase this issue.

Instead of PIR (Planned independent requirement) we wanted to use sales order to increase stock either from Buy or Make. So sales order will not have any delivery to customer. When actual demand comes from customer it will consume from this stock. The reason we don't want to use PIR because of GPD and demand traceability purpose.

I really appreciate if some one reply to this and help me out.

Thanks -Ezazul
