User Mapping.

Hi, Guru's.

After reading some posts about the doubt I've got about user mapping, I'm still quite confused...

The scenario is as follows: I've got to implement a portal in which users (even from out of the customer) may access to several systems (R/3, CRM and BW).

Obviously it's quite complicated to ask for the customer to have implemented SSO in all their systems where there gonna be outside people who may access to their productive systems.

Is it there any way to map users to have the access to several systems?

Best Regards.

Santiago.

Hi Santiago,

Single Sign On is implemented two ways.

1. Through Logon Ticket

2. Through User Mapping

You can also have a combination of these two for each systems.

There is a prerequisite for using Logon Ticket that, you need to have teh same user id in each of hte boxes you want to connect through Login Ticket.

While Creating a system, in the user management option you need to specify how you want to connect to system. There you need to choose between Logon Ticket or User Mapping.

For more information on how to create system, please visit the blog:

Hope this helps!

These asnwers have been quite helpful, but, imaging three entry points for the same user:

-- 1- Access to a Web Dynpro (R/3).

-- 2- Access to BSP's (CRM).

-- 3- Access to reports (BIW).

Can these three entries be at the same time configured via user maping?

Hi,

Add three different Aliase name with system object...

Do user mapping based on the Aliase name....

You simply need to create three systems for R/3, CRM, BW.

Then you can link the corresponding system alias to the corresponding application.

YES all three can work together with user mapping.

Hi Santiago,

You can use "User Mapping" to access various Backend System. Following is the steps to be followed for doing User Mapping.

Create the System by navigating <i>System Administration--->System

Configuration->Under Detailed Navigation, System Landscape> Portal content></i>RighClick & choose <i>NEW>System---></i> Selected <i>" SAP system using dedicated application server "</i> and gave System name and ID and selected the option button<i>"Open object for editing"</i> and clicked <i>"Finish".</i> System Created.

<b>From Property Category Drop Down Box,</b>

Selected <b>"Connector"</b> and gave the following details.

Application Host : xxxxxx

SAP Client : 000

SAP System ID : NSP

SAP System Number : 3200 ( server default port 32 + Instance Number )

System Type : SAP_R3

Selected<b> "User Management"</b> and gave the following details.

Logon Method : UIDPW

User Mapping Type : admin,user

From Display Drop Down Box, Selected <b>"System Aliases"</b> and add the Alias.

After this you will get an info at the bottom like,

User Mapping Status (Ready for user mapping configuration) (With green Tick)

Alias name: System_RFCK

After that Save it and Navigate to<i> User Administration---->User Mapping</i>Under Search, Search for your user id in users.

You will get ID, Name with Edit Link and by the side "System" Drop Down Box which contains the name of the system Aliases that u created.

Click on Edit Link, It will ask for user and password. Give the user and password for R/3 System and clicked save. After this you will get an info like, Logon Data Saved.

<b><i>Try to Test your connection by this way and let me know what happens:

system admin->Support->SAP Application->SAP transaction->select your system Alias,Transaction code and click go if it ask for log in ,.....connections are fine.</i></b>

<b>

******Hope this helps you. Reward Points if you find this helpful.</b>
