e1.jpgHello tech gurus!

recently we are facing seroius issue with jobs which are runnning in our system , they are running for long hours without processing any entries . which then ultimately requires human intervention to either restart or stop.

sometimes they are able to restarted but rest of the time returns error.

i have attached a error screenshot.

kindly help me to fix this and suggest some ideas regarding dispatcher settings .

we have 3 dispatchers each refreshes at 5 seconds interval . and all the dispatchers are identical in operation which means, they are assigned to do all.

we have set concurrent engine to 0

note: SAP IDM 8.0

kindly let me know the proper dispatcher settings here please.

thanks in advance

I have seen this issue when not using the correct JVM - You must use the SAPJVM - otherwise these things tend to happen 🙂

thanks everyone, we could not encounter the issue now, and it was found to be issue with JVM memory space , we just increased to the Optimum amount , and now jobs could survive and complete their work .

Thanks to everyone 🙂

I think you might need to open a support ticket if this has not been addressed in the notes. Oracle always seems to have a small issue or two, even though it shouldn't... 😞

Hi Manoj,

I too have faced the same kind of issue where the provisioning jobs would be running for long duration, but it doesn't execute an entries. These jobs would run for around 5000-8000 seconds and later stops and gets restarted again.

Even restarting the dispatchers wouldn't resolve the issue. Only restart of the database seems to be resolving it.

Hi matt.pollicove, Former Member -

I too have seen this issue for around 3 times on SAP IDM 8.0 SP00 version and oracle database and every time it wouldn't be the same provisioning jobs, but it would be different ones.

DP

Hello DP,

since SP00 is the "no no, don't use that one!" version of IDM 8.0 (even told by SAP) I would definitly advice on updating the SP.

.

Steffi.

Hello Manoj,

Please also let us know that which jobs are throwing error. In case all jobs are throwing error then just write a new on-demand job with an only-one dispatcher and run it nad then change to another dispatcher and re-run and share the report.

Hi there,

Can you tell us what database you are using and if all of the dispatchers are on the same server?

Also what is the full text of the error? Is there anything in the error log?
