Keeping the Appraiser in line with the Org Structure

Hello,

We are using ESS and MSS to deliver Appraisals in ERP, with the Administrators creating the templates and maintaining them in the backend. The problem that we have encountered is that due to the amount of changes that take place in the org structure, HR are constantly having to maintain the Appraisal header to change the manager. As we are using structural authorizations, we experience problems when the Appraisal header and the Org structure do not match.

Can anyone advise any programs that can be run overnight for example that check the org structure against the Appraisee/Appraiser and then update the header accordingly? Or is there any BADI that can be implemented that can do this?

Thanks

Ruth

    Hi Ruth,

Your request is a valid one.

    Try this one.

Check the Badi "HRHAP00_DOC_BC". Try to implement a Badi for this Definition. Now in the method "DO_BUSINESS_CHECK" you need to check the Appraiser's absence and replace him with the proxy(alternate or equivalent) appraiser.

If you code it in such way, every time the employee logs into the appraisal system,

the Badi will be triggered and hence there is no need for a Job to be run.

You also have to create a new filter value. There is a standard filter value (MANDATORY_NOTE) available .

Assign the filter value to the appraisal template and then only it will reflect in the appraisal document.

    Hope this helps you.

    Regards,

    Subbu

      Hi Subbu

If you code it in such way, every time the employee logs into the appraisal system,

the Badi will be triggered and hence there is no need for a Job to be run.

for ex: in an appraisal cycle one employee is reported major part under manager "A" suddenly this manager moves from one department to another department and the new manager name is updated when the employee logs into the appraisal system. If we want to make Manager "A" to appraise the employee, how can we achieve this (as the document is available for new manager)?? and also in MSS when it comes to Appraisals, whether MSS considers the manager's name that is appearing on the Appraisal Document or it considers the reporting structure?? what if there is a mismatch between org. structure and Appraisal Document? How does the change header data functionality works?? Does this functionality has any effect on the MSS side?? If there is any change in the Org. Structure, while entering the new manager's name by using the Change Header Data, is there any validation happens in the backend so that only the new manager is available for selection??

      Let me summarize the above:

      1. EE is reporting to Manager "A" when the appraisal document is created

      2. Manager "A" moves to another department

      3. now EE is reporting to Manager "B"

      4. Org. Structure is not updated, still EE is reporting to Manager "A"

      5. In the appraisal document Manager "A" is replaced by Manager "B"

      6. Since the EE reported most of the period to Manager "A", manager A is responsbile to appraisee the EE through MSS

Now in MSS the document is available with Manager "A" or Manager "B" ???

If we change the Org. Strcuture to Manager "B" and do not change the name in the Appraisal Document Manager "A" (exists) what will happen in this case??

      Thank you in advance
