  • I can't figure out how to get the list of another user's submissions.
  • Clicking on a user's name in the Feed or Comments page of an idea just brings up a popup showing the user's name and (sometimes) the page scrolls to the top.
  • Clicking on a user's name in the Votes page of a idea just closes the list of names.
  • Clicking on the author's name once in a submission does nothing (it is not linkable text)
  • The Improvement Request listings can be displayed either as tiles or as a list. The tile view is mostly useless, as it displays only 2.5 items per page on my screen. The list mode is much more intuitive, but I have to select it each time and the list does not display the vote count, status, or comment count. There are icons to upvote and comment, can't you just add the number of votes and comments to these icons?
  • Speaking of which, the tile view shows two each of the upvote and comment icons -- one with a count and one without.
  • The "About" button displays: Version undefined (2017-09-08 22:06:17)
  • I can't figure out how to search within a campaign. If I go to the WebI campaign, and then enter test in the search box, it does a site-wide search.
  • This submission is marked as Delivered although it has not been. I am not sure if it was marked as such prior to the migration or not. But what do we do about submissions that are incorrectly closed?
  • When I go to "Followed improvement requests", my list is empty. I used to get notifications automatically on ideas that I had voted on -- do I now need to separately "follow" each submission I vote on? And do I need to go back and follow each one that I had voted on in the past?
  • Some comments are duplicated 3-6 times.
  • With the new site not allowing downvotes, were the downvotes on migrated ideas just ignored?
  • The Filter By -> Status dropdown lists duplicated values.
  • The new filters gave me an opportunity to display my submissions by status. Sadly, zero of my 62 submissions have been delivered :(

Hi Joe, thanks for the observations, take a stab at answering some of them, best I can.

  • I can't figure out how to get the list of another user's submissions.
  • There is no current way but we are looking at adding submitter into the search data.

  • Clicking on a user's name in the Feed or Comments page of an idea just brings up a popup showing the user's name and (sometimes) the page scrolls to the top.
  • By design/bug.

  • Clicking on a user's name in the Votes page of a idea just closes the list of names.
  • Seems like a UX bug.

  • Clicking on the author's name once in a submission does nothing (it is not linkable text)
  • Seems like a UX bug.

  • Solution in the works.

  • Speaking of which, the tile view shows two each of the upvote and comment icons -- one with a count and one without.
  • The ones without are the actual buttons. The ones with counts are only to represent totals.
But in general stick with the list view. We will be enhancing it more and ideally, you do not need to use the tile view.

  • The "About" button displays: Version undefined (2017-09-08 22:06:17)
  • Known bug.

  • I can't figure out how to search within a campaign. If I go to the WebI campaign, and then enter test in the search box, it does a site-wide search.
  • This is because the search results jumps to the all site search. If you do the search, then scroll down, expand more filters, in the 'Influence Opportunity' select the session i.e. 'SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence'. This should filter just to the desired campaign/session.
Here I am searching 'charts' in WebI.
    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/global?sort=SUBMITTED_AT_DT%2520DESC&search=charts&campaign=895&object=idea&variant=all

Also, a solution in the works so that within the campaign/session when you type in the search it only searches the current campaign.

  • This submission is marked as Delivered although it has not been. I am not sure if it was marked as such prior to the migration or not. But what do we do about submissions that are incorrectly closed?
  • It appears the Product Manager beleives so. I would recommend to continue the dialog in the comments to come to a common understanding. At the end of the day, you could create a new idea but ideally you would know how to differeniate it from the current one such that it wouldn't be considered delivered too.

  • When I go to "Followed improvement requests", my list is empty. I used to get notifications automatically on ideas that I had voted on -- do I now need to separately "follow" each submission I vote on? And do I need to go back and follow each one that I had voted on in the past?
  • Apologies on this. I need to migrate some more following data. If you had submitted an idea, that will be working but if you had explicilty followed an idea, I still have to migrate all those cases. Soon...

  • Some comments are duplicated 3-6 times.
  • Please share urls.

  • With the new site not allowing downvotes, were the downvotes on migrated ideas just ignored?
  • Yes but the down vote comments were brought across. These ideas should also have low votes thus penalizing them in a similiar way to the down votes.

  • The Filter By -> Status dropdown lists duplicated values.
  • This will not occur on the opportunity/session level. We're looking at that for the site level.

  • The new filters gave me an opportunity to display my submissions by status. Sadly, zero of my 62 submissions have been delivered :(
  • Wow, that's a lot of submissions. The new continuous influence process is stricter with a minimum dev time. We hope that helps. At the end of the day, getting the highest votes helps the most.

Thank you very much for the update, Kuhan! Some responses:

  • This submission is marked as Delivered although it has not been. I am not sure if it was marked as such prior to the migration or not. But what do we do about submissions that are incorrectly closed?

I really don't want to create a new submission, since it will not include any votes from the original one. I've added comments to the ones that I know or suspect are not really delivered, but I am not optimistic that they will be seen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Here are a few that I've found:

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/100759

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/102380

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/142844

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/132717

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/129805

Thanks, but what about newly-created submissions? Will I need to "follow" the IRs that I submit?

  • Some comments are duplicated 3-6 times.
  • Please share urls.

I've seen this on many submissions, but here's a few that I found just by browsing mine:

    https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/101016

Any idea you submitted from Idea Place or the new site should automatically be followed. Is this not working?

RE: duplicate comments: Can you send an email to influencing@sap.com with the screen shots.
I do not see this. Please also include your browser, ver, OS.

I don't think it's working. I just went into a request I had submitted on 9/20 (https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/200254). The "feed" icon was greyed out, and when I clicked it it changed to yellow and a popup message appeared saying "Follow Successfully" (typo, I assume). I also didn't realize till I looked at it that it doesn't automatically vote -- I had to vote for my own request.

I do not see the feed icon activated on requests that were migrated, either. Here is one: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/139324. I don't know if there has been any activity on these since the migration, so I can't say for certain that I'm not getting notifications -- I'm only going by the feed icon not being active, and that prior to the migration I saw a fairly frequent flow of notifications that I'm not seeing now.

The grey icon, click to gold is how you select it. That's proper functionality.
I do believe you need to vote for your own request. Obvious improvement request. :)

You shouldn't need to follow your own idea, this is be default. Following again would have no effect.

And just to confirm, are your notifications turned on?

Top right, My settings, subscribe to email notifications.

    0

Yes, email notifications are turned on.

Yes, I know that "click to gold" would be the expected behavior for following a request that is not currently followed, but I would have expected that a request I submitted would already be gold... The fact that it was grey was an indication to me that I was not following my own request.

Also, from Home -> My Followed Objects -> Followed Improvement Requests, all I see is the one that I just added above.

Kuhan Milroy, regarding the five submissions that were incorrectly closed, I added comments on each one three weeks ago but there have been no further updates on any of them. How can we get these re-opened?

    Hi Joe,

I've pinged the Web Intelligence team. I am suspect they weren't following this idea as it was migrated as Delivered. We are still ironing on the recommend approach for following and the like.

    Cheers

    Kuhan

Thank you, Kuhan. I figured that was the case.

Hi, Kuhan. It's been nearly a month and there are still no updates on the five submissions that were closed incorrectly.

    Hi, Joe:

I'm not sure if Kuhan has seen your recent comments. @mentioning ( Kuhan Milroy ) is usually the best way to get someone's attention.

For now, I'll let him know about this and
