HI

Header condition as the name suggests is a condition type which is applied at the header level only. The header condition is always manual and no condition record can be maintained for this. There is no access sequence for the header condition. When you select a header condition in a sales order in pricing and give the rate for the same then this rate will be applicable for the whole document that is for all the items. In some cases it works proportionately. Like suppose you have header freight condition type 'HD00'. You have multiple line items in the sales order. When you give a rate for the same then it will be distributed proportionately among the line items depending upon the weight or basic price.

Std SAP header condition types:

HA00 - Percentage discount

HB00 - Discount (Value)

HD00 - Freight

HM00 - Order value

RD00 - Weight discount

ITEM CONDTION:

Item conditions as the name suggests are given at the item level only. In the same sales order if there are 2 line items then, for the line item 10, the condition types may be different and for the line item 20 there may be different condition types. Like for eg: Discounts, say material discount 'K004". This condition type may be applicable for line item 10 and for the line item 20, it may not be applicable.

Std SAP item condition types:

PR00 - basic price

K007 - customer discount

K005 - customer/material discount

KF00 - freight

So basically, header condition applies to all line items in the document and the item conditions are applicable at the line item level.

When you double click on a condition type in t.code V/06, there in the section "Changes which can be made" here you will see options like:

header condition - if you tick the condition type becomes header condition

Item condition - if you tick this then condition type becomes item condition.

manual entries

delete

amount / percent

value

qty relation

calculation type

If a condition type is applicable for all items in the document then it is better to select the condition type as header as it will save the item.Reward points if solution helps.

Header Conditions doesnt have access sequence, i.e they are manual,

Item conditions may or may not have access sequence, they are mostly automatic and some times manual, eg PMIN

Hi Prakash,

The field is used to identify whether the condition type is a Header level condition type or Item level condition type.

If the condition is marked as a header condition, it is possible to enter the condition type only in the header condition screen of the documents.

If the condition is marked as a item condition, it is possible to enter the condition type only in the item condition screen of the documents.

A few header conditions types are

HA00

HB00

HD00

HM00

A few item conditions types are

BO01

BO02

BO03

BO04

BO05

BO06

PR00

PR01

PR02

Hope it had helped you. Do reward if you felt the same

Hi

Difference between header and item condition - HEADER CONDITION IS APPLICABLE FOR THE WHOLE DOCUMENT where as item is for item.Ex-Say fright is dependent on the total weight of all the items in the documents then header condition adds on weights of all items and calculates the record accordingly.

You have two different types of the header conditions.

a) In one you can duplicate the same value throughout the document for each item.Say discount 2% at header level which is also applicable to all the items

b)Second is the accumulation of the values of all the item at the header level,as earlier explained for the weight/fright.

These differenes are controlled through the indicator of group condition in the cond.type configuration.

And so obviously header condition can not have the condition record and hence access sequence

HI

header conditions are those which you can apply only at the header level.

conditions which you can onlyuse for items are called item conditions.

for header conditions you cannot create condition records for it as they are entered manually in order processing automatic pricing does not take place for them.

HA00 % discount

HB00 absolute discount

HD00 freight discount

header conditions apply to all items in the document and are automatically distributed to all the items it can be either percentage or an absolute amount.

In sap most of the condition types are defined as item conditions which require condition technique and condition records.

K004 material discount

K005 customer material discount
