Every depreciation key calculates depreciation differently. Your question is too broad.

Hi Eliana,

There are some Steps to Create a Depreciation Key Which I believe if followed will solve your Problem:

1.Define Base Method

2.Define Declining Balance Method

3.Define Multi-Level Method

4.Maintain Period Control Method

Than Maintain Depreciation Key.

You will have to do Configuration in the following Path for Depreciation Key:

IMG--->FA->AA->Depreciation->Valauation Method->Depreciation Key---->Maintain Depreciation Key.

In this last step you have to maintain depreciation key by assigning Calculation method to them.

All this Setting from 1 to 4 you to do in Maintain Depreciation key.

1.Define Base Method

2.Define Declining Balance Method

3.Define Multi-Level Method

4.Maintain Period Control Method

Pls Confirm Whether Your Problem Solved or Not.

People on the board will help you -- but you need to do some things yourself. We don't even know which depreciation key you are asking about. Why don't you create the same asset a few times, with the same acquisition value, same useful life and assign different depreciation keys to it. Then when you look at asset explorer (AW01N) you will see the planned depreciation for each asset. Depending on the the depreciation key assigned you will see the different impacts.
