BI Security - BPS - Costcenter Variable

Hello BPS Gurus,

I have a question regarding the BI security and BPS.

For example I want to restrict the security by costcenter.So the security is taken care by BI.

In the planning level we have costcenter.

My question is due to BI security the user will by default when he/she opens the layout can plan only for the costcenters authorized by BI or I have to restrict it by BPS variable(costcenter).

For example:

user01 : cc 100 to cc 200.

0coscenter security enabled and restricted by 100 to 200 for user 01.

Again I have to do it at the Planning level by restricting the BPS variable for

user01 -

---

> 100 to 200.

or BI security is enough.

Also please confirm BI security applies for the bundle execute program.

Hello,

Yes you have to restrict your level or package. Therefore, a BPS variable of type authorization is the best way I think.

I think it will be a good idea to restrict it in the level also. Because that will save the user from getting error messages in case data for some unauthorised CostCenter gets accessed.
