Production Planning by grouping families

Does SAP S/4HANA has built in the possibility of planning production by grouping items/sku by families or a related characteristics?

The scenario that concerns me is of multi tier production. To illustrate my case lets say I have 3 finished goods all made with the same BULK/Formula and when the process runs I want the system to group then together meeting certain criteria (e.g. max days of early production or look ahead duration ...). This way the batch of the BULK/Formula is optimized and the stock of the individual SKU as well.

We have other situations where at a single level (packing) products are grouped by packaging size (bottle, carton ...), minimizing this way changeover and machine set up as well as products moq.

I'm not sure if S/4HANA offers the exact feature that you are looking for, but there are some DIMP feature that are part of the S/4 core that might be useful to your, such as the order combination and interchangeability of parts.
