Does 0FI_GL_10 Replace 0FI_GL_4 in BI 7.0 ????

If you are going for a brand new BI 7.0 GL Implementation would you go for 0FI_GL_10 or tradditional 0FI_GL_4 ??

Is 0FI_GL_10 a replacement?

What are the main differences?

Any responses will be greatly appreciable.

Hi,

The DS 0FI_GL_10 only replaces 0FI_GL_4 if the source system (R/3) is using the flexible general ledger if not then there is no point in using this and you should continue to use the old DS.

when there is a requirement for both General Ledger and its related Line Item data,

both 0FI_GL_10 and 0FI_GL_4 can be used independently.

Functional perspective - will go with latest and greatest

technical perspective - will go with the ledger to be working since ages, will stick with old one.

0FI_GL_10 is based on <b>FAGLFLEXT</b> ( NEW ) - Totals Table.

0FI_GL_4 is based on BKPF/BSEG (OLD ) and has Line Item Details.

However u need to hav a custom datasource for line items if ur using <b>FAGLFLEXA</b> which is the new table for Line Items - It has no Standard Datasource.

Does it mean that with new GL old one becomes disfunctional?

Has anybody implemented both?

Someone has recommended that for line items you will have to create a custom data source that will read data from FAGLFLEXA table. Does this mean that BSEG will not have any data?
