We recently upgraded our 4.0 to 4.2. The new server only has Information Design Tool and not Universe Design Tool. Are there any issues with installing the Universe Design tool so we can import a pre-built universe that was created in Universe Design Tool?
I'm betting that is what happened. Before I get it installed though I want to make sure there are no know issues/conflicts with having both IDT and UDT running at the same time due to UDT being an older version.
On the 4.2 server we now only have Information Design Tool (old 4.0 server had Universe Design tool on it). We are trying to import a universe created using the Universe Design Tool and don't want to convert it to the Information Design Tool file type as it breaks the universe. I want to install the Universe Design Tool on the server so I can import the universe but I want to make sure that this won't cause any known/possible issues/conflicts on the 4.2 server.
Any specific reason you are installing UDT at server not on client machine.you can install BO client tools are server also.there is no impact of UDT.UDT is well supported and don't yet any information from SAP if there are going to stop the UDT support.
Ok, will running different versions of universes (universe A in Information Design Tool format and universe B in Universe Design Tool format) cause any issues/conflicts?
