MDM 5.5 Installation on Server with Already Installed EP

Hello Everybody !!

We have a server with the EP installed. So, can we Installed MDM 5.0 on this same server ? This may be a stupid Q , but MDM is totally unknown to me and Installation Guide of MDM don't provide clear answer about this scenario.

Useful answers would be rewarded with the points, without failure.

in addition to Michal's answer, have a look at the MDM sizing guide on <a href="http://service.sap.com/installmdm">Service Market Place</a>. This guide helps to create a MDM landscape that fits to your needs.

Hi,

MDM is not an SAP WAS (web application server) system

so in this regard it's totally different from other SAP applications

like r3, XI, EP etc.

to install MDM you just need a DB (like oracle etc)

so if just install a DB on your system you can install MDM on the same server

that you have your EP installed - but do it for dev, proto environments only

for production systems you should use separate machines
