posting period issue

Guys,

We have posting periods opened fromm 2000 to 2010 for periods 1 to 12 and 13 to 16 (FYV k4), but we are not able to post any GR's.

Error: postings only possible in periods 2003/02 and 2003/01 in co. code.

need your help.

If you are talking about Goods receipt posting then check the MM period in MMPV transaction. The periods you are looking at are FI periods. You neeed to have MM periods also open to do positng.

Give your company code and give the period you want to open like if you want to close period 10 and open period 11, you have to give period 11 and year there.and execcute it. In you case you have close the previous periods each month to come to current period and year.

If you period 5 and 6 for 2003 are open, close 6 and open 7, close 7 and open 8 and continue toll you get to current period. this is becuase you can have only 2 periods open in MM at a time.

Do I need to close all the periods from 2/2003 inorder to post in the current month, all in one by one ie month by month as per FY( what about special periods).

When I'm trying to close the 02 period in 2003 it is showing a warning message::::::::::::The specified yera 2003 is not the current calander year.

Will be very thankful if you help.

hi Satya,

The good or bad thing in FI is that you can open and close any periods at a time, as you said even 10 years (T Code OB52) but GR is part of MM and in MM at a time you can open only two periods the current and the previous period (MMPV), that is why you are not able to post GR.
